Erin Hansbrough is a Certified Anusara Yoga teacher. Erin began studying yoga and meditation in 1998, and has been teaching yoga since 2001. Her practice is a daily celebration of the empowerment, enjoyment and well-being found in yoga, and she loves to invite others to this celebration! Erin’s practice and teaching have been supported by many gifted teachers, most especially John Friend and Douglas Brooks.
Before discovering Anusara Yoga, Erin also spent several years studying Astanga yoga, including a 3-month stay in Mysore, India studying with K Pattahbi Jois. While in India, Erin also studied pranayama, meditation, ayurveda and therapeutics with local teachers.
While in India, Erin also took part in intensive training in Thai Massage, a healing modality which involves gentle stretching, twists and supported heart-openers, in addition to addressing the major energy pathways and muscle groups of the body.
Erin helped to create and teach SUNY Buffalo’s Universal Yoga program, offering yoga classes made accessible to students with physical impairments. She also has extensive training in therapeutic applications of yoga, and years of experience teaching women during and after pregnancy. She teaches classes in both Spanish and English in her home of Albuquerque, NM.
